take on VM Speedsetters' CtP systems on the East Coast The newest SpeedSetter VM4 [A2] is the big brother to the original Speedsetter VM2, [A3] two-up violet metal CtP plate imager and has been engineered using the same design principles. Both provide industry-standard drum quality in a compact, easy-to-use, trouble-free package. SpeedSetter VM is part of a complete turnkey system which includes the industry-leading RIPit OpenRIP Symphony Core RIP with Adobe PostScript 3 and an optional P24 photopolymer plate processor. The OpenRIP Symphony workflow system comprises imposition and trapping along with economical options for proofing and screening. The most tedious and error-prone prepress tasks such as screen settings, trapping, plate templating, imposition (including crop marks, registration marks, colour bars, and page information) as well as the application of linearisation and dot gain compensation are all automated. This not only reduces human error, but also improves productivity and offers more production control. Bob Stewart believes the appointments will boost the demand for truly affordable, high quality systems, especially amongst small to mid-sized printers. “They need the most bang for the buck, and VM Speedstters' are engineered specifically to give budget-conscious printers exactly that.” Contact: Bob Stewart |
